Overall, this Ferrari racer could've probably used a few more months of spit and polish before it hit the track. Yes, it's true most people don't buy racing games for the story, so this isn't a major issue. Second, while the cars are attractive and there are many different events to enter, the courses aren't much to look at (neither are the menu screens, for that matter), there is no music (only sound effects), and the story is dull. Yes, you can select one of three skill levels in the single-player campaign, but the game's controls seem like they lack consistency between tracks, and the difficulty seriously ramps up toward the latter half of the game. Why? The difficulty is inconsistent, for one sometimes the game delivers simple, arcade-like handling, while a few minutes later it's an authentic simulation that's difficult to control without any assists. A spin-off to the popular Test Drive racing game series, focusing exclusively on the titular brand. Test Drive: Ferrari Racing Legends is best enjoyed by serious Ferrari buffs who enjoy a straightforward, track-based racing game.
